Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Jonathan P — 25 Jan 2010
So boring for the first 45 minutes that I almost turned it left, but it does start to pick up and become a suspensful. I must give it credit for being a rare early movie that doesn't seem overly choreographed (ala every Hitchcock film I have ever seen) but "baby" it wasn't as good as everyone wants you to believe.
This isn't to say Double Indemnity is a dud, just don't go into it thinking you are watching one of the greatest films ever and pace yourself for the dreadful first 45 minutes and you should be ok.
