Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Steve M — 17 Feb 2010
A great noir masterpiece from billy wilder. It features all the great noir classic shots like a dark room lit by light seeping through vaneshian blinds illuminating the cigarette smoke. Fred MacMurray's narration works great and his acting as a sly insurance salesman turned criminal is great.
Edward g. Robinson is the perfect junxtoposition, he is the totally honest and determined insurance agent out to figure out the case. At times the suspence is high and the score is great. Once the film kicks into gear you get sucked into it.
