Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Niek S — 25 Oct 2011
A couple scenes have since become far too cliched for me to take them seriously (i.e., the constant asides of self-narration, the "suppose I ___" "suppose I ___" "suppose I ___" "suppose I ___" conversation Walter & Mrs.
Dietrichson have). but aside from all that, this actually is as great as it's hyped up to be, it has an ability (unique at the time) to make characters real, and relationships that don't date themselves in time; billy wilder really is a genius.
