Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Ryan S — 15 Sep 2012
I don't understand the "More Like this . . ." for this film, it's like Blood Simple in that they're both noirs, though that's were the similarities end and it's like Citizen Kane in that it's old, which is hardly a reason to categorize them together.
Double Indemnity is my favorite of the 1940s Noirs, the hayday of the genre. I'm suggesting Key Largo, Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep (all with Bogie). The Man Who Wasn't There if a more similar Coen Bros.
film.
