Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by James-Masaki R — 01 Oct 2012
Billy Wilder's adaptation of Double Indemnity is undeniably the very first film noir, made in 1944, which led to countless imitators and a genre full of gritty classics. The femme fatale played by Barbara Stanwyck is hot and evil, while Fred MacMurray goes completely against type as the all-American good guy that treads to the dark side to murder and money.
Also shining in the shadows is the always reliable Edward G Robinson.
