Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Henrik S — 18 Sep 2013
"I did for the woman and the money - well, I did not get the money and I did not get the woman either".
Absolute spot-on film noir with great B-grade performances (yes, MacMurray is a hidden gem but still not an A-List star in my book), supporting cast, a fantastic storyline that is both believable and yet makes the hair in your neck stand up through its sheer brutality and the abyss that one can fall into when exploring the human condition. All the classic noir tricks are here, shadows, protagonist narration, the dame and some dialogues are just dripping with coolness. Love this one.
