Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Matthew L — 26 Apr 2014
I love film noir. It's so cool and smooth. I just love everything about them. The only thing I didn't like was the main character saying baby somtimes. Other than that, this was awesome. I love Fred MacMurray and Edward Robinson.
They are both so amazing. Especially Robinson. Billy Wilder is a great director and writer. He really knows how to treat characters and situations. He makes them very real, but put things so cleverly and all the dialogue is so quick, but it feels very real.
Billy Wilder's direction is also top notch. He creates great moments of suspense and the lighting is wonderful throughout. And of course, the narration is also great. You can tell this is Billy Wilder's writing because it sounds a lot like William Holden's character in Sunset Boulevard.
