Better than I remembered!

Van Damme shows us that as bad an actor as he may be remembered... he can at least act in two, different "modes".

I like this film more for it's supporting cast consisting of Geoffrey Lewis (great character actor you've probably seen in a dozen films or TV shows...) and the legendary BOLO YEUNG.

ALAN SCARFE does very well as the main villain of the piece. He plays it smug and condescendingly and it's one of those "bad guys" you really want to see getting killed in the end.

DOUBLE IMPACT isn't perfect, but it is fun to watch... (if nothing else...) it's lit very, very effectively and actually has some decent writing. There are some very funny situations that fit organically into the story and help develop the two Van Damme characters effectively without the clunky, obvious exposition commonly found in movies of this type. .

The movie almost has too much "style" for what's generally "perceived" as a brainless, 80's Action film.

It certainly isn't as bad as the write-up shown here in the MOVIE INFO section...

Should be included in anybody's Saturday afternoon JCVD Film Festival.
