Review of Doomsday (2008) by Emshedcannotbetamed — 18 Mar 2008
This movie is absolute fun -- provided you like your action detailed with over-the-top violence. My friend and I were laughing so hard at how quickly the movie switches gears. First it's a gritty urban shooter, then all of a sudden it's a King Arthur movie (complete with villains who say "take them away!") and then just as quickly it becomes the Road Warrior.
Even better, all three parts are thrilling and fun. Also should mention that the production and budget for this thing must have been huge. Clearly they didn't spend a lot on actor's salaries, and all of that savings went right into fabulous sets, equipment and stunts.
Really impressive in that regard. Oh well, this will probably not get very well-reviewed, but I thought it was an absolute hoot, and a very well-made movie (for what it is) to boot.
