There have been complaints that this film rips off 'Escape From New York' and 'Mad Max'. To that I say "Bollocks". This film is made by a man who clearly loves those movies, but he simply nods at those films - nods that are obvious to those that love them- but them wraps them in a fantastic movie that barely lets up in it's pace throughout.
Plus you've got Hoskins and McDowell who are legends.. Yes, it's insane and camp at times, but go with it. It's a ride that's well worth it.
