Review of Doomsday (2008) by Timothy B — 16 Apr 2012
There is a void.
Craven and Carpenter have been silent for too long. George Miller has been dealing with penguins.
Someone had to speak up.
Thank God for Neil Marshall. Doomsday is an homage to Carpenter and Miller, a wholehhearted reference to the classics that define our idea of the realistic future (Escape From New York and The Road Warrior, in particular), that adds our post 9/11 paranoia, as well as our post "28 Days Later" knowledge of what makes the horror world tick.
Doomsday is the movie we've been waiting for. Critics can complain. Bring it.
We haven't seen anything like this for more than 20 years. '.
Thank you , mr. Marshall.
