Review of Doomsday (1938) by Private U — 14 Aug 2009
I dug it a lot more than I thought I would. yeah, it's a genre piece and yeah, there are parts reminiscent of other films, and i'm not quite sure why just because people go to live in a castle they have to start dressing like they're extras in king arthur, but I was never bored.
really well paced and exceptionally well cast. mitra, hoskins, mcdowell, and especially o'hara make stock characters engaging.
