Review of Doom (2005) by Miguel P — 28 Oct 2009
One of the good things about this film is it's trying to be a serious sci-fi horror flick. Which it only leads it to being a Alien clone.
The plot is very simple minded and the fist half the movie is very boring. With not so great dialouge. It show us gratious viloence but with an underdeveloped plot. There is a scene that actor Karl Urban goes in to a first person view, and there is so much killing you need black garbage bags to cover the blood spray.
That is so stupid, video game concepts does not work in films the story does. Although I give it credit for trying it's some what enjoyable. If only it toned down cliches and the absurd it would more of a decent film.
MP Grade C-.
PS: I did not appreciate thet the video game dealt with supernatural horror and the film places it like a virus.
