Review of Doom (2005) by W Terry A — 15 Jul 2010
Now that was my kind of B-movie. I've been a fan of the game since it came out and the movie was exactly what I expected! No more, no less. Simple plot, lots of action and guns, guns, GUNS! The acting was good with only a few ham-handed lines (but hey, even the Watchmen had them) and the direction was good. I enjoyed the audio effects and was really pleased that I was not bombarded by cheap CG.
It is good to know that in the far future the term 'Crack Squadron of Special Ops Marines' means 'Disorganized Collection of Psychotic Contractors'. Hell, even sci-fi marines in 'Starship Troopers' were more believable. I wouldn't let that stop you though, it was a fun movie.
