Not actually that bad, more mediocre. Which makes it into the worst kind of movie: too bad to be good, but not bad enough to be funny. The film has two leads and a few inventive plot twists. The monsters are fairly generic and not too scary.
The space marines a series of stereotypes. Actually, that's probably this film's greatest strength: its cheesy space marine heroes. But in the end it's not enough to carry the day.
