Review of Don't You Forget About Me (2010) by Justin Q — 14 Feb 2011
While I like the interviews with Hughes cast, directors and crew, the actual hook of this film, the story of the filmmakers trying to get in contact with John Hughes, doesn't work for me for two reasons. 1.) The filmmakers themselves are not really interesting on camera and 2.) We know that they were unsuccessful just on the pure fact that Hughes sadly passed away in 2009.
The ending was so unsatisfying, BUT it's unsatisfying on the pure reason of how Hughes was near the end of his life, so it's not really the filmmakers fault their.
Perhaps if they just decided to make it just a documentary about John Hughes career and impact (which there is plenty things like that in the film) it might have worked better.
