Review of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991) by Matt R — 07 Apr 2008
Made in the early '90s, this is actually perhaps the swan song of the quintessential '80s fantasy, where teens rise to the challenges set before them and pull it all off with aplomb. The ending is certainly predictable, but the movie's pacing is so well-tuned that it managed to hold my attention during the entire ride.
Although not believable at all, the movie hoodwinked me into not caring whether or not it was, and I marveled at the adroit sleight-of-hand pulled off by the cast and crew.
