Review of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991) by Cheryll C — 31 Dec 2011
I went back and saw this movie several years after I first did when I was a kid. It is still somewhat enjoyable but it was cheesier then I remembered it. It is definitely directed at younger teen girls and feels dated at times.
Still the moral of independence and freedom come with responsibility and work pretty well and there are a few moments to make you laugh. Christiania Applegate was good in the lead, even though the role was not demanding in the least.
It is fun but more could have been done with this and it could have appealed to a broader audience.
