Review of Don't Say a Word (2001) by Andrew W — 28 Jul 2007
Wow. 2001 huh? It seems like just yesterday everyone was cooing "I'll never tellll". I'm not sure how that caught on so fast, because it was only said once in the entire movie. I thought it was good, but I was disappointed at times.
They made the girl super super super creepy and ridiculously scare in the first scene with her, and then in the scenes to follow she was simply "mostly normal". Normal enough not to draw any attention on the city streets of New York.
And the scene in the subway? Come on. Like nobody's going to stare while she's screaming about someone not being helped. It was bizarre. And I dont' like Michael Douglas much. It was a very good thrilled movie with flashes of brilliance.
I still want to know why the robbers HAD to have THIS jewel and why they couldn't have applied their awesome robbing skillz to robbing 10 million dollars some other way. Kind of bizaare. The 6 digit number was kind of disappointing in the end, I've got to admit.
I was thinking much much more elaborate than what it was.
