Review of Don't Look Up (2021) by Benjanzen — 28 Feb 2022
Don't Look Up is one of my favourite movies of the year. It's a painfully accurate and sad dissection of our world today and how the agenda of those in power impacts us. .
McKay manages to balance levity with tragedy, keeping the story fun and comedic while still invoking such stress and frustration. This ensemble of A-list stars do not disappoint, and all do a fantastic job elevating this material. Leonardo DiCaprio is, once again, a standout, and gives one of my favourite performances of the year. .
It definitely isn't clever or subtle, and not all of the technical choices worked for me, but I still thoroughly enjoyed myself with this one.
