Review of Don't Look Up (2021) by Dharma — 24 Dec 2021
Let's get this out of the way first, stellar casts on this film. Di Caprio, Lawrence, Streep, Rylance, Blanchett, Chalamet....wow. This is the film's biggest draw. Obviously, they are all excellent, so much so that I feel that they have exceeded the material at hand.
This is McKay's attempt to marry two sides of his film making skill, hard nosed comedy and drama. On one hand, it is too blunt to be a satire. Having the message being bludgeoned to the audience, on the nose so too speak made the film's message redundant.
However, kudos again for the casts, bringing their A-game to this effort.
