Review of Don't Look Now (1973) by Saida K — 25 Nov 2007
The little creature running around Venice in a red coat - such genius. Both Christie and Sutherland are perfectly believable. It's beautiful, terrifying, surreal and the pace is one of the film's strength.
Have no patience for people who can't appreciate a film that doesn't move at a high-octane tempo... Still one of my favourite films. That sex scene - one of the best or worst? Strange how it seems to divide so many opinions.
I think it's so powerful because there appears to be such an element of honesty about it. Maybe it feels too voyeuristic? But absolute classic!
