Review of Don't Look Now (1973) by Michael U — 08 Feb 2008
Deeply unsettling, but also highly moving gothic horror to which Roeg adds an air of tragedy as two parents seek to recover from the death of their daughter. Beautifully made technically - sound, music, pictures and editing all combine perfectly to present a picture always slightly askew - this also features two brilliant performances.
Parts of this will haunt your mind forever. Roeg's masterpiece. And yes it also has a sex scene in it - one of the most moving, real but unexploitive sex scenes in history, that emerges as crucial to the films final conclusions.
