Review of Don't Look Now (1973) by Angelle H — 15 Nov 2008
This was bearable, but ended being a bit to much. Overall I would go as far as comparing the imagery to a Caravaggio piece. With having moments of beautiful photography, and exceptional editing, the picture still became very redundant and disjointed.
Roeg's direction and the performances kept me involved, but it seemed like many CGI fests today, where the technicians were just drooling over their craft, which led them to continue using the same cuts, shots, and tricks over and over.
I'm not sure if Polanski took from this, but I definitely saw some similarities from "The Tenant". Still I prefer that over this.
