Review of Don't Look Now (1936) by Chris B — 02 Nov 2007
Nicolas Roeg's slow burning suspense drama from the 1970s holds up surprisingly well today, given contemporary filmmakers' penchant for the climactic Twist. Donald Sutherland and a stunning Julie Christie star as a couple in ominous (!) Venice.
Things get interesting when he starts spotting their dead daughter around the canals... Brilliantly edited and structured, this film set the standard for many thrillers and chillers to follow.
