Some great visuals, particularly the drowning sequence, but the film meandered too much to be gripping. The movie portrays "evilness" by having Venetians glare ominously at Donald Sutherland every time he leaves a room.

Also cackling old ladies = not scary. This reminded me of a headier, but poorly executed version of Rosemary's Baby. Watch that, instead.
