Review of Don't Look Now (1936) by Indi V — 10 Jul 2012
It leads you to believe it will be a supernatural thriller, but it isn't... at least... I don't think it is... I don't know. It's very effective at leaving the viewer confused and disoriented.
You never truly know what is going on and you won't by the end of the film either. It goes down some interesting paths, but some things just needed a little more clarification. It's mentioned Sutherland's character is psychic, but we never really get a confirmation he is since he's in denial.
Julie Christie is very good in this film, but the film as a whole needs to decide if it wants to be a ghost story or a murder mystery. It's probably one that demands repeat viewings just to get it.
