Review of Don't Breathe (2016) by Brohug — 02 Sep 2016
Really more like a 7.5 but didn't want to undersell this gem. Lean, effective thriller. At times almost seems like a stage play. The characters are drawn correctly, especially the target of the break-in played by the durable actor Stephen Lang.
His moral arc from victim to monster is entirely believable and the motivation for his actions rational, given what's happened to his life. There's one niggling plot gap but it is easily dismissed while you're sitting in the theater literally holding your breath.
