Review of Don't Breathe (2016) by Samiha K — 06 Apr 2017
I think this horror-thriller was actually really good. There are a few minor things that were a bit cliche like, that dude that was about to escape with the girl was killed at the last second, I mean COME ON, that's just disappointing because I feel like too many horror movies end with everyobe dying and then a scary face filling the screen before the credits roll down, and that just really bugs me.
Directors need to STOP doing that. It's pointless and they dont realise that audiences like more survivors because it's thrilling aswell as being nervous, hoping for the characters survival. However, the movie admittedly ended on a minor high note, seeing as Rocky escaped with Diddy to Los Angeles.
The man somehow claimed to be alive at the end of the movie which seemed a bit suspicous to me but that doesn't really matter to be honest. From a varied selection of horror movies I have seen, it is safe to say that this one really blew me with it's sheer simplicity acting so effective.
This movie was very effective with it's natural happening-robbery, but really got your brain thinking aswell. I hope to see a likewise sequel. ????
