Review of Donnie Darko (2001) by Alexander E — 13 Mar 2016
This is a hard film to follow, but as long as your in a quiet room and pay attention you'll understand it fine. It's such a great film, and I never feel bummed from turning it on. It's about a boy (Donnie) that has a mental disfunction or he's just crazy.
He has a friend named Frank. Frank is a man in a giant bunny rabbit costume. It'll probably scare all of you, and give some of you nightmares. Anyway, Frank wants Donnie to make change. Big change.
And Donnie listens to Frank. Starting with busting open a schools water main and flooding the entire school. The change Frank wants Donnie making is big, but it's not good. Throughout the movie Donnie continues to follow what Frank tells him to do, and Frank shows him more and more.
It's a fantastic film and the ratings make that clear enough.
