A somber film that echoes the best of gangster films like The Godfather and Goodfellas. Brilliant performances; Watch Pacino and learn everything you need to know about great screen acting. Depp is spot-on as an actor who's playing an actor.
Anne Heche is absolutely invaluable, in this male-driven drama, as an anchor who grounds the movie in an emotional reality. Patrick Doyle's music is perfectly suited for making it a bit more operatic with added tension and mood.
....my admiration grows with each repeated viewing!
