Review of Donnie Brasco (1997) by Morgan L — 05 Dec 2011
Mike Newell isn't necessarily much of a director; not to say he's bad, but this film would have benefitted greatly from more freewheeling style a la Martin Scorsese circa Goodfellas. With that being said, Pacino and Depp have wonderful chemistry and it's fun watching two great actors at work, and they born turn in top notch performances.
An above average gangster flick, with a solid supporting turn from Michael Madsen, and one which definitely deserves a watch for anyone who's a fan of either Pacino or Depp.
