Review of Donnie Brasco (1997) by Brandon W — 12 Sep 2014
Donnie Brasco is a great gangster drama that I was surprised that it was a true story. The interactions between Johnny Depp and Al Pacino are great and the best part of the movie. It is really nice to see Johnny Depp in something that's not usual for him, and Al Pacino is still great as a gangster.
The best in the supporting cast is Michael Madsen as he tries to not make himself a stock character and he work his own character out. Donnie Brasco doesn't really feel like a standout from other gangster films although Johnny Depp and Al Pacino do try to make it standout, but I still enjoyed it for what it is.
