Review of Donkey Punch (2008) by James R — 21 Jul 2008
Empire described this film as 'Lord of the Flies on a boat' and that's a very fitting description. It's an unnecessarily gruesome teen-fest, with a drug fuelled bunch of near strangers having sex and committing murders - nothing new there.
The film is slow to start and some of the plot points are a little contrived, the characters become psychotic killers at the drop of a hat - but the whole thing hangs together (just!). I'd advise that you do go and see this film, it's entertaining with most of the comedy going to Tom Burke (Bluey).
If you're at all squeamish, steer clear as there are some pretty inventive death sequences. Not going to be watching again, but glad I went. Donkey-Punch-tastic.
