Review of Donkey Punch (2008) by Mike M — 23 Jul 2008
The most impressive stretch of the film is not the expanse of sun-kissed hedonism with which it opens, nor the perfunctory genre pay-off, in which distress flares and outboard motors are put to no good use.
It's the second act, the strongest hour or so I've seen in a British horror film for some time, wherein the cabin space shrinks on these characters, and the boys practise an especially abhorrent form of emotional cajoling on the girls: truly, these young people are all at sea.
