Review of Donkey Punch (2008) by Simon B — 21 Aug 2008
Not as gory as I expected it to be, or hoped, but that aside, it's an ok film.
I'm not sure how hard you'd have to punch someone, or where, on the back of the head/neck to actually break their neck, but that's where the film get's it premise from, based on a 'mythical' sexual practice.
After 'the incident' the film gets quite interesting, as obviously everyone starts to panic & try to decide what to do with the body, but as they're stuck on a boat in the middle of the sea, it's also quite claustrophobic for them, especially the girls who are understandably scared & with nowhere to go as the lads are in charge of the boat & refuse to return straight to land.
It then get's a bit cliched with everyone turning on each other & blaming everyone else for what's happened, but that would be my only moan.
The film portrays the guys as horrible, scheming, sexual beasts, while the girls are (as usual in horrors/thrillers!) the naive & scared ones.
Oh, & if you like Jaime Winston, she gets her kit off & has sex in this movie!
