Review of Donkey Punch (2008) by Paul P — 30 May 2010
Watchable trash which is not that orignal but is quite well made..
Character is non existant in this film. Pretty much everybody is assigned a type (slut, psycho, nice guy, hero etc.) but that is about it. As a result, I could not care less about what I was watching because there was nothing to route for. The actors do a pretty good job with what they have though.
Visually, the film is quite pretty, especially in the early sunny scenes and the music that is used is pretty impressive. All of the clisches are accounted for, lots of flesh, a smattering of violence here and there but the core of the story about taking responsibility and the moral quandry that this presents is not captured particularly well.
