Review of Donkey Punch (2008) by Juanchi G — 27 Apr 2009
The oh-so-appropriately titled Donkey Punch is about three beautiful girlfriends on vacation in Span who meet four equally nice-looking gents wanting to party. After some fun on land, they take things to the guys' yacht where they sail out a far enough distance to enjoy loud music, drugs, and debauchery.
Sure enough, things lead to sex, and not just any sex, but a nice, long orgy (definitely fun to watch as the girls are quite hot) that results in one of the girls experiencing the mythical donkey punch and dying as a result.
Naturally, everyone starts freaking out, especially the guys who know they fucked up and start to cover their tracks, much to the disdain of the girls. Thusly, as one could expect with this horror/suspense yarn, more bodies start piling up, some of which in some gruesome and inventive ways (especially given their surroundings).
All in all, Donkey Punch exceeded my expectations. Take out the boner-inducing sex scene and you've still got a great and very dark film, similar to Very Bad Things, save for all that dark humor. Kudos to the sharp direction, the surprisingly decent acting, and the great cinematography (such a dark film has never looked this beatiful).
I enjoyed this film. If you are easily offended, please don't be dipshit and watch this and then give it a bad rating, thus screwing up its rating system.
