Review of Don Juan DeMarco (1994) by Kerri L — 06 Dec 2007
This was only good because of Johnny Depp's character's storyline. I cannot believe how much Marlon Brando phoned it in in this movie!
The movie is about a guy who tries to commit suicide because he believes himself to be Don Juan the greatest lover to have ever lived and he loses his true love. A psychiatrist played by Brando is assigned to him and he slowly starts to believe that Don Juan is telling the truth. The ending is ambiguous in a way you get to decide if the guy is really nuts or Don Juan.
Johnny Depp turns in another great performance and his accent is on point. But Brando slept through this whole film. What a shame it had the potential to be much better.
