Review of Don Juan DeMarco (1994) by Matthew Paul D — 30 Jun 2009
The film itself doesn't stand out in any extraordinary cinematic way. However the story underneath the story (the sub plot if you will) is priceless. Concerning the dying flame of an old man and his lover (Brando and Dunaway) and the young man who comes in to help him retrieve his passion.
Depp stands out in the acting department, Brando is good as well. Although this is probably not the kind of movie you'd expect two of the greatest actors of all time to be in, it is truly a gem of a film.
Very well put together little fable.
