Joseph Gordon-Levitt writes, directs, and stars in the romantic comedy Don Jon. The story follows a porn addict named Jon who starts to reconsider his views of love and sex when he starts dating his dream girl.
Co-star Scarlett Johansson gives an excellent performance and has good chemistry with Gordon-Levitt. But as strong as the performances are, the characters aren't very likable. And the film is pretty heavy-handed in its themes.
Don Jon is typical of a lot actor passion projects, in that it has vision but lacks the disciple and craft to pull it off.
