Review of Don Jon (2013) by Mango A — 12 Jul 2014

For a girl, it is quite offensive to watch as I see Don Jon treats women in a objectifying way. But it's hilarious how he tries to maintain his religion at the same time and confesses his sins much more weekly than any other Catholics I know of.

And about his obsession of pornography drives me nuts and makes his character less attractive. It makes me think that he couldn't get a girl that's amazing in bed or find that's sexually compatible with him.

But for a directorial debut, Gordon-Levitt did not fail to deliver. It was directed quite well and something worth watching and the characters did not fall flat though I find it more interesting the lacklustre chemistry between Julianne Moore and him. It was something that irks me when they started a relationship together. I did not like Moore's character from the start and still hated it till the end.
