Review of Domino (2005) by Ian B — 17 Nov 2008
After watching it now, it doesn't have the same impact as it did the first time. It tries to be philosophical at some points, which only makes it seem insincere. The yellow filter that the film is shot through adds to the edgy mood but does nothing for the ridiculous storyline and bizzare characters.
There are cliche moments, and the character of Domino takes actions that seem like poor excuses to show some flesh--still there is enough going on to keep you interested in the film. It does come together nicely, and the ending does come at a decent time, but all throughout the film you can't help but wonder what makes any of it relevent.
