The main problem with this is that Vince Vaughn is not a psycho and is unable to portray one. Characters like the one from Wedding Crashers is what Vince Vaughn can do...stupid but nice guys.
Granted, someone more psychotic as the villain would not save the movie. It would help but this movie needed a completely different script for it to be good.
