Review of Dom Hemingway (2013) by Anna L — 13 Sep 2013

SPOILERS - It's a movie that frankly makes little sense if you stop, even for a second, to think about it...the titular character gets out of prison, commits egregious assault within a day (no consequences natch) then heads to feared crime lord who stands by while Dom basically says he wants to bone his girlfriend as part payment for taking a prison rap (cause vicious crime lords always take crap from low level types for doing a prison term and shutting their mouths).

..then there is a alcohol/drug fueled binge/party that leads to a car crash that kills 2/6 people and leave the other four completely unscathed...one of whom rushes back to the villa to steal Dom's "I served 12 years in prison and didn't rat" money.

..because that's totally what you do after being high and drunk and in a car crash that kills two people, you run back to the villa to grab the cash and then (now completely sober) just kinda drive off with it.

...and it goes from there...it's uneven...the ending is classic schmaltz...Dom is horrible and I am not sure how the audience is supposed to root for him....bleh.
