Review of Dom Hemingway (2013) by Josh O — 24 Apr 2014

I'm not sure how to feel about this film; Jude Law gives a bravura performance with some fantastic (yet foul) dialogue, but on the other hand it all really amounts to nothing (nothing that revelatory anyway).

The acting it good, it is well shot and scored but that script needed to be a lot better to make it something a lot more substantial. Though there is a character arc for Law's character many of the others are rather under developed and there are many moments that are rather heavy handed and change tone too suddenly.

In a way it reminds me a lot of the movie 'Sexy Beast' except with less cool factor and not as tight pacing (also not much can top Ben Kingsley's performance). Not bad but nothing special, Jude Law's performance is great though.
