Jude Law's excellent acting can't save this poorly directed mess from failure. The tone is all over the place, with poor pacing, weak direction and even the lighting looks cheap at times. It's a shame, because over the course of a few scenes and monologues Dom Hemingway himself shows potential as a great character and wonderfully cast, too - but all too soon it falls away to middling sentimentalism.
A great disappointment.
