Review of Dolphin Tale (2011) by Roxanne R — 18 Jan 2012
PHENOMENAL, AMAZING, FANTASTIC, AND DESERVING OF AN OSCAR!! Dolphin Tale is inspired by true events where a young dolphin's tale is caught in the fishing nets of crab traps and she is stranded at a Florida beach.
She is rescued by a loner boy (Sawyer Nelson) and an old man who contact authorities and she is brought to a marine mammal facility in Clearwater which is in desperate need of financial help. At the facility, the staff including Dr.
Clay Haskett, his father Reed (Kris Kristofferson), the daughter Hazel (Cozi Zuehlsdorf) and several volunteers nurse Winter back to life! However; unless she is given a prosthetic tail she runs the risk of dying so Dr.
Cameron McCarthy (Morgan Freeman) comes to the rescue because the power of BELIEF, FAITH, and never giving up hope are stronger than the status quo! Will Winter survive, will her prosthetic tail work? And will the Clearwater Marine Mammal facility somehow get the miracle they are hoping for by financial assistance? I will say this: Winter has given so much hope and desire to keep on living to so many disabled people and this movie is living proof that a disabled person is not broken because the human spirit with the assistance of another species can do the unimaginable! Thank you Warner Brothers, and the awesome cast of Dolphin Tale for making an epic project that will resonate with so many people and restore faith in human kind!
