Review of Dollman (1991) by Rim P — 18 Apr 2008
Note that this movie has nothing to do with the comic book character by DC Comics. Although this movie spawned a series of comics in its own right.
Dollman is a B-movie gem that genre buffs should pick up. It tells the story of a space cop called Brick Bardo, who follows some ugly head to Earth, where he is forced to make a crash landing in the South Bronx. He then finds out that he is now the size of an Action Man doll. Luckily for him, he is equipped with the best handgun in the universe, which every man should fear.
Dollman is full of laughably silly moments in its near 80 minute running time. It tries to be a serious film with swearing and violence, so it's not really recommended for the kids. But that just makes it all the better.
I'd advised you not to watch the sequel hoping it will be as good, because it isn't. Not only is it shorter, it is a sequel to two other so so films. Ginger was a hot dolly though.
