Review of Dolittle (2020) by Dharma — 12 Mar 2021
Horrible, 'unfinished' film and a sour note to Downey after a successful run as Iron Man. I am not really sure where they spend all their moneys on. Talking animals may work on animation, but pulling it in live action is quite difficult.
Universal attempts to outdo Disney in this respect and failed miserably. Even so, the always dependable Downey is horrible. His choice of English accent made his barely intelligible. Let's also not talk about the so called 'climax' of the film.
It is not as bad as it sounds, yet it reeks of desperation by the film makers, who are at this point throw everything but the kitchen sink to make this film 'work'. It didn't.
